Happy Holidays everybody!
Here are some pictures from the group show at St. John's in Queens that I have the privilege to be part of. I have a lot of original art in it (original ink drawings), some large prints, finished objects, books and some rare Rabid Rabbit items. For more info, please visit their website, the show is up through February.

Metal Man made it into The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books 2008-2009 List of Best Gift Books:

The Bulletin has been very kind to Metal Man. Last year the book was featured on their cover and received a Starred Review. Thanks for all the love!
I'm in an exhibition of illustrators and animators at St. John's University in Queens. The other artists include Yuko Shimizu, Nathan Fox and Adam Kidder, and it's been curated by Daniel DaSilva. The show is up already, but on Tuesday December 1st will be a reception with some of the artists present. Here is a description of the show and travel directions. If you are nearby, please swing by and check it out!
It's been busy, but I finally got around to put my recent works onto my illustration website.
There are 5 new images in the Editorial Color section, and 2 in the Editorial b/w. If you've followed my blog you might have seem them already.
This is in the current issue of BusinessWeek, it deals with the question how effective commercials and ads for drugs are. Recent studies have found that the only thing that consumers are remembering from the countless ads are the negative things. If anything at all. Many thanks to Don Besom, Senior Art Director who helped developing this particular idea.
Another piece of great news for HAT: It will be published in Korean by Foreverbooks! That makes 4 foreign translations. It's a great feeling to know that my story will also be seen by kids in Germany, Korea, Japan and China. I can't wait to see the actual books!
In other HAT news, I'll be at the Brooklyn Museum Children's Book Fair, along with plenty other great artists and authors. I'll be doing my very first public reading of HAT, and I'll be signing HAT and METAL MAN. If you have kids and / or love children's books, and / or live in the area, please come by on November 21st. It should be fun!
