Time also to look back– how was Your year??

For me, one of the highlights was the 30th Anniversary of the MFA Illustration program here at SVA, which was celebrated with a big exhibition and numerous events.

But even aside from that, this year had everything: Nice projects, some even from Germany, comics-festivals, motivated and talented students, visits from high dignitaries, books, books, books, and let's also not forget: WE won the World Cup!

Let's hope that 2015 will continue just the same way.

Holiday Wrapping Paper

I created a wrapping paper as Holiday promotion for Panama Advertising Agency in Stuttgart. It is a little narrative that they gave me to illustrate, without words. Their clients received the wrapping paper by mail, but also can come by on a special "gift-wrapping-day", to have their gifts wrapped by experts.

Back from the Old World

I'm back from my annual trip to Germany. I had a great time. It was very snowy and cold– a true winter. Below is a shot from Ravensburg, on my way to the the old hangout spot, Cafe Bar Balthes.

Sonntagsblatt Illustrations

OK, it's not Christmas anymore, but it's still snowing, so here are some illustrations I did for the Magazine "Thema", published by the German Newspaper Sonntagsblatt, about the favorite Christmas Songs. As I did with a similar assignment last year, I incorporated some of the lyrics and a bit of sheet music into the images. The first one is the Christmas Oratorium by Haendel, the second one is Silent Night, and then it's White Christmas. If you like, you can order the issue here.

Christmas in Panama 2

I'm bit late with this, but I still wanted to share this short film that the Panama Advertising Agency created for the Holidays, which goes perfectly with the image I created.

Christmas in Panama

This was the official christmas card for the Panama Advertising Agency this year. They sent out flutes as gifts to all their clients, and my illustration, depciting the owners Guenter Steinort and Werner Baertle in front of the very cool Panama Building in Stuttgart, was featured on the card that came with it.
