I have received my advance copies of HAT, my first self-authored children's book. The book will come out officially in March. It's an amazing experience to see your "baby" in the flesh for the first time. Thanks so much to Bloomsbury, who put their faith into my project.
Good News from Germany! This drawing of Ground Zero will be included into the highly acclaimed Freistil 4 – Best of European Commercial Illustration. The new tomb will be all black and white, though reproduced with 5 colors and a varnish. My image will take up a whole spread and I can't wait to see the finished book! Thanks to Raban Ruddigkeit and everybody who helped making this latest installment possible.
Yay, Metal Man has been selected as a 2008 Notable Trade Book by the National Council for the Social Studies. The book will be featured at the NCSS Exhibit in Atlanta in November, as well as in the NCSS magazine. Thank you very much National Council for the Social Studies!
I'm back in the studio, and the new year starts with some good news!
Metal Man was judged a winner in Bookbuilders of Boston's 52nd Annual New England Book Show competition, yay!
Also, one of my illustrations (the infamous balloon drawing) has been accepted into the 47th Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles Annual Illustration West show, and will be exhibited at the Gallery Nucleus in March.
