Lindwurm

I created this drawing for a play called King Lindworm at the Young Theater Konstanz, Germany. It was great to collaborate with my friend Felix Strasser, who happens to be the director of the Junges Theater. Whish I could have been there to see it!

RWTH Laptop Bag

This is a project I worked on earlier this year: A laptop bag for the RWTH Aachen University. I just got mine in the mail. It's really fun to see your drawing on a product! The print was done in silkscreen, I had to separate the image in four channels using spot colors. Thanks again to Chancellor Nettekoven, Toni Wimmer and the entire team! Hopefully the students at the university will like it!

BusinessWeek

Illustration for BusinessWeek, for an article about ways to measure the efficiency of print ads. By comparing lists of subscribers to lists of e.g. Geico customers, a company called Logic Lab tries to cross-reference how many readers actually pick up the phone after reading an ad. The story was unfortunately killed, but I still had a blast doing it. Many thanks to Senior Art Director Don Besom!

Online comic for INKplosion

I participated in a project by the German online comic zine INKplosion. All the participating comic creators are riffing on the same theme: A family is looking through their basement and finds a box, wondering what could be inside... Here's my vision of what happens. (Click to enlarge)

SILA Best of Show Award

This week I got something very exciting in the mail: My Joseph Morgan Henninger / Best of Show Award from the 47th Society of Illustrators of LA competition (I've written about it earlier this year here, and you can check out their website). It's a fancy acrylic object, partially see-through and very reflective... Thanks again to SILA for this great honor!

HAT Online reviews

After getting back from a little trip, and while I'm getting back into things, I wanted to share these online reviews of HAT. First, here is a review by DDG Booksellers:
"Hat is a truly rare and wonderful book. A young boy named Henry finds a hat on a bench and imagines all the wonderful things he could do with it. His mother then gently asks, "but Henry, what if someone else needs this hat?" Henry then imagines all the troubles someone might be having from the loss of their wonderful hat and chooses to leave it on the bench. If ever a book taught a single, vitally important, but difficult to grasp lesson, it is Hat."
