After the festival is before the festival

Another MoCCA festival is over, and it was a great one! Thanks to everybody who came, thanks to the Museum of Comic and Cartooning for organizing it, and of course many thanks to my table-mate Anuj Shrestha!

For those of you who couldn't make it , and looking for a additional reason to go to Coney Island this Saturday, here's another event we'll both be at: PRINTS ALIVE will take place at the Coney Island Museum and feature a small, curated fair of prints and publications, concluded with a special performance by the Coney Island Sideshow in the evening. Organized by our friends at Carrier Pidgeon, it's sure to be a great event! Hope to see you there!

Spring Day at Union Square

Even though it was a beautiful day, I decided to change location after this drawing. Mostly because of a nasty stench in the air. Other people left as well, others stayed. It is New York, after all.

Journey Into Misery 4 at MoCCA Festival 2012

Another year, another MoCCA Festival! This year I'll have my own (half-)table, without support from Rabid Rabbit, so it'll be an interesting one! I'm really looking forward to it.

I'll have my children's books with me, along with all my mini-comics from previous years, plus some other fun merchandise.

Rabid Rabbit will be at a separate table, debuting the latest issue number 14, to which I contributed a 5-page story.

What's more, I'll be debuting Journey Into Misery 4, featuring two long stories and a couple short ones, from my BEHOLDER project.
By the way, I've been continuously posting there every Monday, with stories and drawings, feel free to visit anytime!

At MoCCA, I'm tabling with my friend and artist extraordinaire Anuj Shrestha, who'll have a new issue of his ongoing series Genus.

See you there!

Homepage is in Ruins!

Website update on paulhoppe.com, besides my recent illustrations for the New York Times, EastBay Express and AARP Magazine, I also put up a new homepage image, it's a personal piece I did solely for fun– and self-promotion. It's kind of a fresh take on The Invisible City, a series of drawings I worked on during the MFA Illustration program years ago. I'll see if it evolves into a series again…

Rabid Rabbit 14 Comic

This is from my contribution for the latest Rabid Rabbit, to be released simultaneously at MoCCA NY and Stumptown, Portland, OR. The theme ended up being… Romance?! Yes, finally an issue for the sensitive and romantic. Or is it…?
