Village Voice Cover
Today, my cover for the Village Voice came out, it's very exciting to see it in print! When you follow the link, you can read the full story that goes with the illustration, about a cop having an affair. It's a juicy one!

Goethe Institut Feature
The Goethe Institut has a website about comics and comic arts, and the latest article is about German artists who went abroad. I'm honored to be included, to talk about reasons and experiences of working as a German illustrator in the US. You can check out the entire article here. Journey Into Misery 3 begins on The Beholder
Today begins the next chapter on The Beholder, serializing Journey Into Misery 3. A new page will be up every Monday. There will also be some extra-goddies every now and then! Hope you'll swing by every now and then. Remember, if you don't follow The Beholder, he might destroy the universe. A small price to pay…

Novum Magazine feature
Here is my 4-page feature in the latest issue of Novum, the great German design magazine. It means a ton to me to be featured in such a great publication.
When I was studying design in Germany, this was one of the magazines we always looked at, and to have made it into its pages is amazing.
Issue 6/2012 is available now, as soon as I have received my own copies I'll post some more pics.
Many thanks to Design Professor Lanny Somese for writing the article and to all the great people at Novum!

Pencils for Digestae Comic
Here are the pencils for my contribution to the comics anthology Digestae, a food-themed book with over 50 contributors from the indie comics scene, edited by JT Yost / Birdcage Bottom Books. The book will consist of stories by vegetarians as well as meat-eaters and omnivors. The contributor list is most impressive and I'm psyched to be part of it.
You might be interested that I'm donating my originals for this two-pager (the inked finals) as one of the rewards for the Kickstarter that finances this endeavour. There are other great rewards for donating, so if you can, please help this project succeed!

Brazilian HAT
Just received some wonderful items in the mail, the Brazilian version of HAT, from Brinque Books (follow the link for a portugese summary of my story). It is a soft cover, but actually a little larger than the original. Some other, very subtle differences are fun to spot. They took great care with my book and I hope it'll reach many children in Brazil!
Due to the great efforts of my US publisher, Bloomsbury, HAT has been translated into 7 languages now, on multiple continents. Many thanks to Bloomsbury and all the foreign publishers!

5th SVA Summer Illustration Residency
Here are my students and a brief look at some of the work they did in my class. For the fifth year, I'm part of the faculty of the Summer Illustration Residency at the School of Visual Arts. I'm teaching the Visual Narrative class.
The attendees are literarily from all over the world and it's a privilege to work with them. Classes are going on through the end of June, when the it all will culminate in a Open House/ Exhibition event where everybody can see the work they've been doing during their time in NY. Thanks, as always, to Viktor Koen for making me part of this special program.

The Woods Review on ItsFunToHaveFun
The Woods were included on this list of children's books on the blog Itsfuntohavefun. I'm in great company, and the very kind review says "…The Woods is a perfect read aloud book that has big, animated and well defined illustrations…" Many thanks!
