Cell Phone Girl
This is a brand-new piece I did just for fun, and I liked how it turned out so it's now the new home-page image on my website.
I've been recently thinking about how to bring some of the stylistics of my personal comics (especially the BEHOLDER books) into my editorial illustration work. The character is directly taken from my Journey Into Misery stories.
Sequential Car Illustration
A personal piece drawn directly in my sketchbook, playing around with the idea of "sequential illustration". And obviously dealing with one of my favorite topics, gentrification.

Reading at Brooklyn Children's Museum
Here are some photos of my recent event at the Brooklyn Children's Museum. I contributed to Muriel Feldshuh's Illustrator Quilts, which are exhibited at the museum this month, so I was invited to do a reading.
Afterwards I drew with the kids (and some adults), which was great fun! Thanks so much to Muriel Feldshuh for including me in her quilt, and to Aiesha Turman for organizing this and inviting me!

Sigurd Covered
I did a piece for Covered, which is a blog where artists are re-interpreting comic covers in their own style. I've been wanting to do one for a while, I chose a vintage German book, Sigurd, by Hansrudi Wäscher which came out before I was born. Thanks to Robert Goodin for posting!

Interviews & Articles
Here are some comics-related recent articles, interviews and news from around the web, collected for your convenience:
I wrote a little article for the Cartoon & Comic issue of Slanted,
a German magazine about typography and design. I called it A Very Subjective And Casual Comics Overview from Greenpoint, Brooklyn, because that's what it is.
Furthermore, there is a nice feature about me over on the Holy Yost, because I'm contributing to Digestae, a food-themed anthologywith many great contributors including Jeffrey Brown and James Kochalka. Many thanks for the shout-out!
If you like to support the project, there is a Kickstarter campaign with great rewards.
And finally, here is an interview from MoCCA in which you can see me at the festival live and alive.
As always, thanks for swinging by!

I'm excited to be part of the 4th volume of Illustration Now!, published by Taschen. Many thanks to editor Julius Wiedemann for inviting me! They're also creating a calender this time around, and I'll be included in that one as well.

Print's Alive in Coney Island
This Saturday only, I'll be part of Print's Alive at the Coney Island Side Show Museum, and event featuring prints, presses and publications, concluded with a special performance of the famous Coney Island Side Show.
Other exhibitors include Carrier Pigeon (who were so kind to invite us), Cannonball Press and Drive By Press, amongst other hand-picked, high-flying acts. I'll be tabling with friend and cartoonist extraordinaire Anuj Shrestha.
I'll have a new print, all my mini-comics and books and prints. If you missed MoCCA and are looking for an excuse to spend the Saturday in Coney Island, come by!
More info here and here.

Better Hospital Food for AARP Magazine
This piece was for AARP magazine, illustrating an article that suggests and advocates for fresher and healthier hospital food. At first we played around with the perspective and interesting close-ups, but in the end decided a straightforward solution would work best. Many thanks to Art Director Dian Holton!
